*ac debate camp*

finally it's over! Debate camp was frm wed-fri at acs i. Well, i went for the june camp and ended up going for their camp again.

day 1: arrived at acs i with yuankheng. We were 1 hr early! so we started playing cards at their debate rm. After that we got our grps. i was overjoyed when i realised that lisabelle was in the same grp too! And the others were paul and kang an, 2 sec 1s and the other paul was facilitating us. well, there were 2 debates. first one, TH believes in free trade. i dun like political/econs motions but well, we prep-ed with the help of paul. And debated against kylie,nat yeo and david. it was like super amusing cos david kept arguing with lis. ha. anw, we lost that debate & kylie won best spkr! yay!! Second debate was THW support gay marriages. preferred this motion to the previous one. we prep-ed with the help of lucas. debated against steph's grp and we won with lis being best spkr! well, it was kinda okay.

day 2: it was scavenger hunt. pretty much similar to june's amazing race just that we could go where ever we want to get the stuff. The stuff was quite weird but lis & i managed to call pple and found out wat and where those stuff could be found. lis's mum & aunt were a great help! Anyway, we walked ard orchard, searching for stuff. And like there was this item that had smtg to do with SIA. But thank goodness we didn't go changi airport cos i called wantian to ask her where the building was and there was a counter in paragon. wonder which grps went to changi airport? ha. we were also supposed to find a durian. rmr, we can't get stuff with $. anw, we just skipped that one.
we ate ice-cream on the way too! After one leg of the race, we got to rest at harbourfront. ate at yoshi and met yuankheng,steph & emily at pasta mania.

After lunch, we gathered to get our next list. paul passed me the list and told us that he was not following us. At first we were like "hah? oh no." but lucas came along and offered to help us. hahas. we sorta abandoned paul and just left. Paul was like "oi!" all of us started laughing and just walked away. it was so amusing! anyway, we left for sentosa. we went to visitors' arrival centre cos we needed a merlion postcard. but they all needed $. so this kind man bought it for us. hmm.. wonder who? =p then we set off to orchid gardens. we practically walked thru the gates, admired the orchids and no one came to us to make us pay for the tickets. weird. we needed a ticket but we can't even find/buy one cos guess wat? it was free! ha. so we took a grp photo with the orchids as evidence. the ac pple has a habit of asking us to find stuff/shops that either closed down or smtg. then we went to sky tower and we met andre's grp there. their grp was split up! nvm. anw they stood there like dummies. but my grp went to ask the lady and she said she couldn't give it to us so we could only get it frm the dustbin! so lucas just took it frm there and lis and i were like "omg.lucas u rock!" hahas. walked to the wondergolf place. the place was really small. but the kind lady brought us to find the golf ball. and it was pink! anw, we had to hurry off cos the bad-tempered manager was heading our way. yupp. then we went to the beach! lucas,paul & kang an tried to get the coconut while lis & I went to get sand and seawater. they were still throwing stones at the poor coconut tree. then, the seniors arrived. they tried to help them but to no avail. augustine went to the extent that he hung on the tree branch and swung ard. The coconut didn't come down but it seems that everything else did! anw, we met andre's team there again. they finished! omg. that's cos they split up. while they were still busy trying to get the coconut, lis & i ran to shangri-la to get the towel access pass. we only had to ask for it! lol.when we went back to the beach, they couldn't get the coconut. andre threw all his tickets at us cos they finished. but i threw it back at him. and he threw it to the sand and buried it! omg. litterbug! anw, they left for home. while we openly picked up their coconut and feli said we could! anw, we were like waiting for kaleni but no one came. Until feli came and called kaleni for us. we were supposed to wait at the visitor arrival centre! so we left but the monorail was packed so we didn't bother to quene. we tried to walk but we realised we were walking in circles. so we sat down on the pavement and satrted meditating. hahas. and we stretched the map, trying to figure our way back. i called yuankheng and she passed it to kal. we went to the blue line. guess wat? andre's grp were still waiting at the quene! hahas. anw, we arrived back there and yuankheng was laughing at us. then susannah was answering some questions and it was really amusing cos she said "east pole!" anw, lis and i managed to solve the qns with david's help. and he made lis apologise for smtg that happened in june's camp. weird. anw, we headed for the beach and amelia didn't board the bus! arghh! but i managed to contact her and taught her how to come. Meanwhile, april told us to get susannah to take a photo with sean. we dragged her and she struggled. the guys carried sean. But in the end, we ended up taking a grp photo cos she was struggling too much. Anyway, lis was gonna take a photo with susannah's face alone. So yk & i stood beside her, pretending to take a photo with her. She even made me promise that i won't crop the photo cos i was a christian! well i said "i won't crop the photo." but she tried to make me say "the photo will not be cropped" but i just kept repeating "i won't..." lis promised too. hahas. While lis managed to zoom to susannah's face and snap! we didn't crop it. the camera did! anw, we left for harbourfront mrt and we waited for the rest there. but we left first for ps. ate dinner and we left.

day 3: debated again. lis stood out for that debate. And all the prop grps wanted to prep together but andre's grp refused too so only steph's grp prep-ed with us. The motion was THW fear China. And we were against yuankheng's grp!! argh!! (runs away) The debate was so hilarious cos we kept arguing over minor stuff. (like if it was morning or afternoon) And i was laughing throughout yk's speech! cos like she said no one wld want to go china, especially sam. And she even said "oh sh**, wat did i say?" hahas. but we won! and i managed to get best spkr. We went holland v's burger king for lunch. And ended up stuck there cos it was raining. we were chatting and taking photos until the rain stopped. After we received our nxt motion, we only had 15 mins to prep! so we just grabbed a rm and started throwing stuff out. The motion was THW ban smoking. Yuankheng, susannah they all came in to our rm, so we ended up prepping together. poor lis felt unwell so she stayed out again. my grp went up with no case. anw, paul took over the other paul. hmm. it's getting confusing. we were against michelle's grp. And paul wrote his case on the floor! hahas. anw, i went up not knowing how to rebutt forbidden fruit syndrome. and sorta crappes, not knowing wat i was saying. anw, i felt quite mean when michelle said "point mdm. ...." and she started saying her pt. But i was like " mdm. i didn't accept ur pt." oops. sorry mich! anw, paul kept saying not to blame him if we lost. but he was still gd! To our surprise, we won! Leemay was a really nice adjudicator as she tackled michelle calmly. Cos michelle kept arguing back at watever leemay says. anw, i was quite shocked when i realised i was best spkr agn. We went back to the rm and started "building bridges again." we had some laughs cos lis, steph & kristi were acting bimbotic. The results were announced and my grp received best grp! hahas. All thanks to paul,kang an, lis and not forgetting lucas & paul!

we went for dinner at novena. And susannah & i managed to trick yuankheng into believing that i broke smtg in hallmark! it was so amusing! Anyway, i chatted with yk on our way home.

Debate Camp's over. Made new friends and had a enjoyable time there. There were many couple pair ups and it really tickled me lots. Thanks to the ac pple who organised it. whee!
