Church Camp 2005 written on 2005-06-17 at 6:00 p.m.
I'm back! I went to church camp at sunway lagoon! From 13-16 June.
Day 1:A beautiful rainbow
A wonderful promise
Was what God had gave us at causeway
The journey began on the coach
From the very fellowship,
Building bridges/taiti,
All the way to trying to sleep.
It was simply amusing!
As I sat right at the back with Jingyi & Joshua,
We had problems sleeping.
Backaches, Neck aches, Uncomforted.
So sleeping soundly was a rare sight.
When I finally fell asleep,
My neck ached so badly that I was awoken.
To my surprise,
I woke up seeing a gray object lying on 3 seats!
That was Joshua. Hahahhah!
Anyway, the hotel was nice,
The room was amazing.
My room mate was an adult, Lay choo.
I will explain the implications of an adult roommate later.
There was nothing much on the first day,
Praise & worship was superb.
The nocturnal creatures came out,
All gathering at junwei’s room.
Well, the youths to be precise.
We played bridge, taiti, watched movies, eat, etc.
Their room is like a convenience store!
It has like so much food/drinks.
“orange, strawberry, ginger beer, chips, etc”
Day 2: I woke up for morning devotion!
Hahhaha! I am early!
The lesson was to be a family’s friend.
Session was on how God has invested in us
And how he expects returns.
Pst David told us abt his 10000+ thesis.
Which no one understood.
And everyone was distracted by the chill in the
GIGANTIC convention center.
Everyone was covered in jackets, glove, etc.
And people kept going to the toilet,
Heating up there.
Drinking the hot water provided. Yups.
That was how cold it was.
This is the convention center.
The youths went out for lunch together..
Then we went ice-skating!
It was so fun!
But I fell once because of this stupid guy
That fell near me,
Hitting my leg, then I fell on him.
Hmph.
Anyway, we had a GREAT time.
Although I had some minor scratches,
But, never mind.
I was on duty for Children’s Church that night session.
The kids are so adorable!! (pri-primary)
Especially Jodie, Cara, Wynelle!
Not forgetting Timothy, Genesius, Joash
And of course my favourite Elliot & Isaac!
What freaked me out was this 6-yr old girl names Rebecca.
Zhiming says she’s possessed.
She scratched timothy & Jodie!!!
And she poked her fingers into Max’s eyes!!!
Ahhhhh!
Anyway I enjoyed it. The kids are simply endearing!
After the night session, huiru & I went to carol’s room.
Watched soccer dog on tv.
Then we returned back to our rooms.
We were returning when we met april, peijun & lay choo’s cousin.
Well, they asked me to play bridge with them.
So I went.
This is what happened:
Went to the café. Can’t play cards there. So we left for someone’s room to play.
This is what laychoo heard me saying: Went to the café, can’t play so we ate there.
And she claimed I lied?
I think she should go find out the truth before even scolding her cousin.
Hmph.
I think she has a perpetual hearing problem.
Cos even before that,
She saw my chocolates in the fridge.
Laychoo: “Oh there’s a mini bar in the fridge!”
me: “it’s mine.”
Laychoo: “I think the last owner left it behind cos it’s opened.”
Me: “it’s mine.”
Laychoo: “I think we better ask them to change it.”
Me: “it’s mine!!!”
Get what I mean?
Day 3:
Morning Devotion was on psalm 81.
Remembering God & His blessings to us.
Session was on the pyramid graphic they came up with.
Top’s holy spirit.
Second’s Kingdom of priests
Last’s Kingdom of world.
So all believers are royal priesthood,
While pastors are the chosen holy priesthood.
Hahahaa! I’m part of the royalty!
They repeated it so many times,
It’s in my memory now.
Eating Dunkin’ donuts and auntie anne’s for lunch,
It was so fattening! I’m gonna get fat!
Haha. Nvm.
Went shopping that day with huiru,
While the rest of the youths were at the theme park.
I do not regret not going!
Cos there were so much shopping!
Bought 2 shirts and a pair of earrings though.
But didn’t see any nice gifts...
Haha
After Dinner, was the session!
It was normal.. Praise & worship, sermon, PAL, presentations.
But what striked me the most was the anointing of the lord.
The sight of the anointment of the pastors was overwhelming.
I never did see such a sight before.
Or to such an extent that is.
They jumped ard, kneeled & then were slained.
But the one that really caused a impact on me was Pst Esther.
She is one true woman of God.
She is obedient, humble & leads a holy life.
She went to Thailand to do mission work!
That’s was why she could stand in God’s presence,
Even after 7 anointing (7 is a divine number)
It’s just so AMAZING.
Was feeling tired that night,
So I went to sleep.
Then the phone rang.
Me: yes?
Ruth: Jazlyn? Wat r u doing?
Me: (feeling grouchy) SLEEPING.
Ruth: packing?
Me: SLEEPING!! !@#$%^&*()
Ruth: sorry sorry!
She called like the entire youth I think.
Sheesh.
And worse still,
She’s my neighbour.
So she’s been pressing my doorbell,
Following me everywhere.
It’s kinda irritating though.
Day 5: Morning Devotion’s at 7.15.
I woke up at 7.15.
And the convention center’s like 10 mins walk always.
I jumped out of bed, waking laychoo who surprisingly
Was still sleeping, then washed up and left hurriedly.
To my pleasure,
It just started. In the midst of a praise song.
It was on practicing Justice in our daily living.
Yups.
Session was on inter-relatedness in the body of Christ.
As God blessed us, we shld bless others.
And the harvest we wld reap, depends on how much we sow.
Then the anointing I’ve been expecting.
It was AMAZING.
I heard angels,
Joshua saw an angel,
So I’m sure there were angels.
The presence of God was so strong.
Seeing many already slained (fell on the grd)
Some crying, jumping, on knees, laughing, etc.
It was such a moving sight.
I waited patiently for my turn.
I was prayed for by pastor mayeng.
She just said "heal this child's past wounds and hurts."
immediately, i felt a strong heat gushing up to my head as she laid her hands there. I felt the spirit touch me. I started tearing. Crying. Weeping. it was just too much for me to take. I fell. trembling, crying.
I laid there for some time.
After that, i picked myself up.

went out for lunch later.
Had a nice meal of timsum.
Then off back to singapore.
time really flies by.
It was a great experience.
This is the entire church grp that went. some pple are missing though. 400 over people/=.
And i stand amazed once again,
in the presence of the Lord.
