FOP 2005 written on 2005-08-07 at 11:11 p.m.
just came back from festival of praise
it has been a long day for me
and indeed it has been an eye-opener
From quening for abt 1-2 hrs
all the way to squeezing with the crowd
the thousands of people were amazing
I went to FOP a few years back
when i was still a kid.
and perhaps this would be a second.
Hillsongs, Delirious was great
They were dynamic, enthusiastic
but it lacked a little sincerity.
They were great at rousing the crowd
absolutely fantastic
it was a wonderful experience
but what i expected didn't turn out
the true genuine worshipping
from your heart
jumping up and down
doesn't mean u're into REAL worship
it just shows u are expressive
i mean i had fun jumping
but i had a true experience of God's presence
even when it was much quieter
they were too loud,
too rock for me at least
but nonetheless they're absolutely talented, great worship leaders.
i love hillsongs:)
but for regular p&w, i don't think so.
it's just not right for me.
The musical instruments were blasting
i admit it sounded really good.
but sometimes it's quietness that allows the spirit to enter.
i always thought my church's p&w was good,
but perhaps not FANTASTIC
but i'm contented and i give thanks.
everyone jumping, screaming their lungs out,
it seems as if they're worshipping the worship leaders/bands,
not God.
the sermon seemed powerful
but it didn't impact me a lot
all i was wondering was how the speaker could be so dramatic.
well, after all it's my personal view
i'm sure lots of people had a great time, (including myself)
but i know i definitely look forward to my own church's
overnight prayer meet tmr more.
nights everyone
