enrichment! written on 2006-03-03 at 6.33 p.m.

monday: nth much happened:) bio practical was pretty much okay except we had to draw a carrot and a onion which was last year's o'level prac. trng was erm. okay.

tuesday: hmm. after sch, went with rachael and eleanor to meet some CIP guy. it was so amusing! As we were supposed to meet him in burger king at far east..

me: let's go outside BK and guess which one is the guy.

(so the 3 of us starts looking)

elly: is it the caucasian?
rachael: i dun think so. OMG. there's this blue shirt man sitting at the inside, remote part of BK.
elly: don't tell me it's him.
me: call him and see if the blue shirt guy picks up the phone.

(blue shirt guy picks up the phone)

(the 3 of us frantically looks for stuff that we can use for self-protection (ie geog tys, no rackets and bks) and we went down, still thinking to call the police if he does anything. (in a jokingly manner)

elly: he's not that bad lah.
jaz: haha. i thought he was wearing this thick gold chain cos of the reflection from his sunglasses hanging from his neck.

yes im very blur. and it turns out he was a full time policeman himself. haha. yups. anyway, the meeting went on pretty smoothly, so we think we would be going for cip in june.

after that, it was 3+ and we were done. As i had lots of time as bible study only started at 6, i went to harbourfront macs to study.

(on the phone)
liyun: im coming already. at "outram"

so i went on doing my work, thinking why she took 20-30 minutes from outram to harbourfront which was 1 stop away. haha. i thought she got lost or smtg.
it turned out she was at orchard not outram! hahah! anyway, after bs, went back home.

wednesday: enrichment for 3 days! it felt as if it was holidays you know. Anyway: financial literacy in the morning was pretty much interesting.
M'level is a very fun game, whereby you have a occupation, play stocks, buy assets, pretty much like life of a working adult. i was a millionaire at 32! haha. practically everyone actually.

bishan recycling was very enriching. the 10 of us from 4GR grp A&B had 4 blocks to do. So we started with this really confusing and biggest block. the lift only goes to 1,5,9 and 12. so the staircase only goes to 4 units of the other floors. the other 10 can only be found using the other flights of staircases which cannot be accessed by the lifts. yes. so we climbed up and down with stacks and bags of newspapers and old clothes.

there was this really nice house that gave us around 1.6m height of newspapers, topped off with this huge bag of clothes. so nice! Residents of 2 units also gave us drinks:) The other 3 blocks were simpler cos there were only 8 units although the fact still remains that the lift goes to 1,5,9 and 12. Rachael and i did 12 & 13 so it wasn;t that bad actually:)

we finished off pretty quickly, helping another class with 2 floors cos this resident asked us to go even though we weren't done with ours. yups. in fact, we were the first class to finish!

and we have been pretty obsessed with this "nui nai" (milk) game that rachael taught us. it's darn hilarious. so we played that and we wanted to sit at the playgrd but we met with some grp of malay/chinese guys instead. it was quite a interesting encounter actually.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience, returning with aching arms and legs.

thursday: it was afternoon session for me so i had breakfast with my mum in the morning. Had financial literacy part 2. became a millionaire earlier at 27! haha. earned more $ compared to wed. amelia got bankrupt 3 times consecutively! poor girl! anyway, one of the hci guys that is in sc for exchange programme, acted out this negotiation incident with the instructor. it was very entertaining.

friday(today!) everyone says as long as you don't get GHANA, you're fine, cos it's the most pathetic country in world trade games. guess what? I was so lucky, fortunate to get GHANA! together with lesley sia, danielle tay and chen min i think, we worked, begged and used all our resources. But then again, the only resources we had 1 grain, 1 cotton, 8 low skilled workers, 1 high-skilled workers! and $2000 for 4 games! fantastic huh. This is compared to the highest of 14 grains, 12 cotton, oil, steel, planes which we had none and $15000. yes we were the poorest of the poorest. so we went ard BEGGING, TRADING with the most pathetic deals and the first round was terrible. And this game worked in such a way that if you do not fufil the first round's needs, it is brought over to the next rd which created more problems for us the next rd.

But after much PERSUADING, NEGOTIATING, ASKING, BEGGING, APPEALING, lesley and i managed to bring GHANA up, and at least we managed to hit the standard mark for our country! These were our marks for 4 rds, 66, 64, 74, 78!

Thank you to those who helped us and gave us stuff! haha. poor indonesia got robbed pretty badly by ********* in the 3rd rd. US and venezuela won though.

went out for lunch with joan, wanping and audrey in town. we had a pretty nice time together talking abt SCHOOL stuff. haha. ya right. we had a great time:)

went home and slacked till evening then i started studying.

okay.

monday 6/3: AMATH TEST
tuesday 7/3: GEOG TEST
friday 10/3: EMATH TEST and jgs

okay shall get back to studying.

motivate jaz:)

ciao
